Now, most of you probably know by now that Overwatch 2 is a PvP title, and is completely online. You need an uninterrupted internet connection all the time, to be able to play this game.
The performance of these online-only games depends a lot on their servers. If the servers are running, that game will run fine. If they are not, then you will have a tough time running it. You might witness connection issues, and you might even get kicked out of an ongoing match.
That is why it is important to keep track of the server status of these games. If the servers go down, you will get to know about it immediately.
Checking the server status is a good way to find out if the issues are from the developer’s end or yours personally. If you’re not being able to log in to Overwatch 2, you’ll want to know how to check the server status, like in other games, which we’ll go over in detail below.

Downdetector is another convenient way of tracking the server status of Overwatch 2. If there is a Server Outrage, then you will notice the number of reports go significantly up. Which would cause the server outrage graph to look something like this:
You can also go and check the Overwatch 2 forums. Normally, when the servers go down, a surge takes place in the amount of posts by players on the Forum page. You can track the latest comments by visiting this link and by clicking on the ‘Latest’ tab.
One thing you have to keep in mind is that it hasn’t been long since Overwatch 2 came out. The game is brand new and free-to-play too, so everybody is rushing to play it right now.
The servers are at load most of the time. And they will stay like that for a while. Give it some time, and you will get your share of good experiences soon.
