It is a bug that a lot of players are currently experiencing. The bug is causing the game to go completely mute. Sound is available only during intro videos and animated cutscenes.
This seems to be a common bug that a lot of players are experiencing at the moment as there are a lot of posts regarding this on Steam. There is no sound on the menus, no voices and no music.
How to fix the No Sound fix
Fortunately there is a working fix for this bug, and it has been confirmed to be working by many users. The fix has been suggested by a Steam user with the name /Linada. Here is the fix:

BUT i had my DirectX all updated, all i did was run the Steam Common Redistributable in my library, and it fixed itsel.
