Nier Replicant – White Screen Bug – How to fix
Finally, Nier Replicant is out across all the platforms. And the game seems to be doing quite well so far. It did get some negative reviews immediately after the launch. But the situation looks better now.
There is no doubt that it is one of the most anticipated titles of 2021. But that doesn’t take away the fact that Nier Replicant still has some errors and bugs that Square Enix needs to fix. The White Screen issue is one of them.
A lot of PC users are experiencing this bug or error. Here are the things you can do to fix it.
How to fix the white screen bug
I was personally getting this bug, and trust me, it is really frustrating. I was trying all kinds of methods to fix it. Things that I tried:
- Switched between Windowed and Fullscreen
- Reinstalled the game
- Changed refresh rate to 60hz(I am using a 144hz monitor)
- Installed the Windows media feature pack
- Disabled Windows Defender
- Turned off steam input
- Turned off discord/steam overlays
Unfortunately, nothing happened. By my surprise, the fix that actually worked is actually a funny one. I have never seen such a weird workaround before this. The fix was suggested by Steam user /Yosh:
Fix for me: Change your name to English characters only. I don’t know why this worked but it did LMAO.
