[Note: Most of the methods written below have been taken from the official Steam Discussions page of Microsoft Flight Simulator. So these methods or steps are not something that we have discovered]

Add exception to your Anti-virus

There is a huge chance that the black screen issue is being caused due to your Anti-Virus quarantining the MSFS executable. So all you have to do is add the Microsoft Flight Simulator executable file to the exceptions list of your Anti-virus.

If you are not using any third-party Anti-virus then add the exception on your Windows Defender. Here is how to do it:

  1. Open Windows Settings
  2. Select Update & Security
  3. Select Windows Security
  4. Click on Virus & Threat Protection
  5. Then under Virus & Threat Protection Settings click on Manage Settings
  6. Now scroll down until you find Exclusions
  7. Under Exclusions click on Add or remove exclusions
  8. Click on Add an Exclusion
  9. Select File
  10. And then select the MSFS executable file or the .exe file located inside the installation folder
  11. Restart your PC

Turn off your Anti-Virus or Firewall

If adding exception doesn’t work then it is best to completely turn off the anti-virus on your system. Most of the players who have managed to fix the black screen bug have actually done it by just shutting down their Anti-Virus software.

Install the latest Nvidia or AMD graphics drivers
