Add exception to your Anti-virus
There is a huge chance that the black screen issue is being caused due to your Anti-Virus quarantining the MSFS executable. So all you have to do is add the Microsoft Flight Simulator executable file to the exceptions list of your Anti-virus.
If you are not using any third-party Anti-virus then add the exception on your Windows Defender. Here is how to do it:
- Open Windows Settings
- Select Update & Security
- Select Windows Security
- Click on Virus & Threat Protection
- Then under Virus & Threat Protection Settings click on Manage Settings
- Now scroll down until you find Exclusions
- Under Exclusions click on Add or remove exclusions
- Click on Add an Exclusion
- Select File
- And then select the MSFS executable file or the .exe file located inside the installation folder
- Restart your PC
Turn off your Anti-Virus or Firewall
If adding exception doesn’t work then it is best to completely turn off the anti-virus on your system. Most of the players who have managed to fix the black screen bug have actually done it by just shutting down their Anti-Virus software.
