Fortnite Battle Royale is probably one of the fastest growing titles under the Battle Royale genre. Not because it is free to play but the kind of gameplay it offers. If you love fast paced shooters then you are going to love Fortnite for sure. Now, Fortnite is a game that is mainly based on the Battle Royale genre, it does have a PvE version but it is not free and barely gets any attention from the community. Being a highly competitive title you have to make sure that you are rocking the best in-game settings in order to get the most out of your gameplay in the PvP Battle Royale mode. Let us be honest, would you like to get interrupted by lag or fps drops during a crucial clutch situation? Of course not. So you have to make sure that your game is running at a constant 60+ frames per second. Here are few steps or methods that will show you how to increase fps in Fortnite Battle Royale :
Increase FPS in Fortnite Battle Royale
You have to make sure that your graphics card driver is working and up-to-date. If you are using a Nvidia graphics card then you can download the latest driver from here. If you are using an AMD graphics card then you can download the latest driver from here.
Increase Priority Of The Game
Okay, here a very useful step that I have seen many people do and it works surprisingly well. Start Fortnite. Press Alt+Tab to minimize the game. Open Task Manager and click on the Details tab. Search for the Process named “FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping.exe” from the list. Right Click on it and Set Priority to High. You are good to go.
Increase In-game Post Processing
Here is a blunder that I have seen a lot of players make. Setting everything to low is not always the best thing to do if you have to boost your in-game FPS. Setting Post Processing to Low would actually decrease your fps. So you have a PC that is not very powerful then you can set Post Processing to “Epic” and you would see a huge fps boost.
Nvidia Control Panel (Nvidia users only)
Here is a trick that you can do in order to get some extra performance from your PC. Nvidia users can open their Nvidia Control Panel and click on “Adjust image settings with preview” located on the right hand side of the app. You will see three 3 options there and you can choose. Click on “Use my preference emphasizing”. Slide the slider and set it to Performance. Click Apply. This trick would actually help you in increasing the fps in other games as well.
These are some easy methods or steps you can follow which would really help you if you are struggling with a low powered PC and wish to increase FPS in Fortnite Battle Royale.
