Nitrous is basically that one thing that’ll get you speed boosts when needed in a race. It has become an essential part of the game as players can strategize with how or when they’ll be using the Nitrous Boost.
Nitrous will come in handy in the story mode much more than in the multiplayer mode. Here’s how you could fill up the nitrous meter, followed by how you can use it:
How to fill up Nitrous Boost in NFS Unbound
To fill up nitrous is quite an easy task. It’ll automatically fill up when you perform a jump, nearmisses, drifts, and trading paints.
All of these will fill up your nitrous meter quickly, and in order to do basically any of these, all you need to do is hold down the accelerator.
All of these fill up the meter in different amounts. Once you’ve run out of Nitrous, just perform any of the above and it’ll start re-filling itself, as many times as you need to complete the chase/race.
How to use Nitrous in NFS Unbound
Just like filling up the nitro, using it is pretty easy as well. All you got yo do is know your Keybind.
By default, it’s the button “A” for XBOX, or “X” for the PlayStation. Holding down the hotkeys would lead to more extended nitrous usage and a more significant jump in speeds, wherein you could empty up the NOS tank/meter, which you can later recharge by the ways we mentioned above.
Also, we do highly recommend that you keep an eye on the Nitrous meter even when in action as you could run out of it quicker than you imagine. The gauge will be visible at the bottom right of your screen, next to the speedometer.
