How to Transfer Skins to Overwatch 2

The sequel to the O.G. Overwatch, Overwatch 2 is finally live, on the 4th of October 2022. Yes, the Overwatch 1 servers have finally been taken down. There’s no doubt about the fact that the game has created hype among the players as well as the critics.

Blizzard made an announcement about the fact that your old Overwatch account can be merged with your newer one, once that is done and accepted.

Another question that comes to players’ minds is if the skins they’ve purchased in the previous game, are transferable to the new one, and the answer is YES. The skins ARE transferable.

It is worth mentioning that the transfer process is times easier for PC folks than console users.

By this article, we at Frondtech will guide you as to how you can actually transfer your skins from the Old Overwatch game to the new-to-release one, so without further ado, here it is:

How to Transfer Skins from Overwatch to Overwatch 2

When it comes to console players, they’ve got to link their console accounts with their battle.net accounts. The procedure to that isn’t really hard, we’ve covered the same in an earlier article written by us, and we highly recommend for the console players to check it out. But still, we’ll drop by the steps you need to take down below, to make things easier for you:

  1. Create (if required) and open your battle.net account on your PC or just fire up the desktop application.
  2. Click on the blue Battle.net logo in the top-left corner of the app.
  3. Head over to the My Account section.
  4. The link will open on your browser
  5. Here, select Connections.
  6. Now choose the console accounts that you wish to sync.

  7. Start Overwatch and choose the merge accounts confirmation
  8. Now just click on continue, and make sure you check that the account’s information is correct, if it isn’t, do not continue and just repeat the process heading back to your battle.net account.

All you need to know after this is that once the accounts have merged, the skins will automatically be transferred into your new account.

Once again, all you need to merge your accounts is a battle.net account, so we recommend you start by creating one if you do not already have one yet, also, you can make one with ease by logging into Overwatch from your console and just scanning the given QR code.

Another thing to keep in mind while doing this is that only one account from one platform/console can be linked, so choose your account wisely, and we recommend re-checking the whole procedure a few times as you go through the same.

That’s all you need to know about transferring skins from your Old Overwatch game account to the new Overwatch 2 game. We hope this guide was helpful to you all.
