Stunlock Studios’ V Rising, is a great Survival game, but you play as a Vampire. You start your journey as a weak vampire and through lots of building, hunting, and conquering, you climb your way up to the top level of the hierarchy.
You can choose to explore the massive open-world solo or with your friend in the co-op mode. Pillage villages, raid camps, force your way to the different territories. Do whatever you have to, to grow.
V Rising came out just a few days ago, and it has already gotten 4000+ reviews on Steam, among which 90% are positive ones. This means, we can safely say, that the game is already a hit. Just like Valheim, V Rising is also an indie title, that can give a lot of AAA titles, a run for their money.
Anyway, to survive in the world of Vampire, the first thing you need to do is, build your own castle. And to do that, you need to build a Castle Heart first. I have already provided all the details about building a Castle Heart. You can check it out here.
After you are done building your Castle Heart, you need to make sure that it has enough “Durability”, and you have to stop your Castle Heart from decaying. Here is how to do that:
How to Stop Castle Heart Decay
To stop your Castle Heart Decay, you need to supply Blood Essence continuously. You can get Blood Essence quite easily in V Rising. Every living being drops Blood Essence. The only enemies that I have not seen drop it, are the skeletons.
So just hunt and feed on a lot of living beings. Bears and Moose drop a lot of Blood Essence. Collect a bunch of them, come near your Castle Heart, interact with it, and drop all your Blood Essence in one of the open slots under Castle Power.
The amount of Blood Essence you drop in the Castle Heart will determine the timer under “Castle Powered and Fortified for:”. The more the amount of the Blood Essence, the longer the timer.
If your Castle Hearts runs out of Blood Essence, it will start decaying, and you will get a pop-up message saying “Castle under decay”. During this time, you will notice that the walls and structures of your Castle have red energy emitting from them. This means, that they are weak, and your castle is vulnerable to attacks.
Also, your Furnaces, Sawmills, and other equipment will completely stop working, if your Castle Heart is decaying. This should give you an idea of how important your Castle Heart is.
