How to Play the Winter Express LTM in Apex Legends Holo-Day Bash 2020 Event
What is Winter Express?
Winter Express is a round-based limited-time mode that is exclusive to the World’s Edge map, where three squads fight to take control of the train as it travels around the entire map. This year, Respawn has added a new station called Derailment for the train to stop at.
How to the play the Winter Express LTM?
This year, when your squad respawns after a round has finished, you will spawn on your own supply ship as it follows the train. From here, your squad will be able to survey the battlefield and skydive into combat as the train arrives at its next station and the objective unlocks. The squad that won the previous round will respawn directly on the train.
The new station Derailment, has a variety of flanking opportunities, and a unique rotation under the bridge where the train stops. This allows players to quickly change which side of the objective they are attacking.
These changes would work towards reducing some of the long respawn times between rounds that players experienced in Winter Express 2019. You can now get spawned earlier on the supply ships, and the longest section of track between stations is now divided in half with Derailment. I honestly think that these changes will make the mode a better experience.
The thing is, during last year’s Winter Express, Legends like Loba, Revenant, Rampart, and Horizon were not present. Now that they have joined the game, the mode has been completely shaked up and the old strategies won’t work anymore. The developers have also refreshed and rebalanced loadouts for this mode to include new weapons and purple armor to make the engagements a bit more exciting and engaging.
