The process of you setting up a custom game, be it locally or online, is pretty similar to the last edition of the game, 2K22. You won’t be able to forget it once you know how to. How to play Multiplayer with Friends in WWE 2K23
One platform, that’s all you need. Multiple controllers though. Gather up all of your friends looking to compete in WWE’s 2K23 edition. Just connect all the controllers, select what type of match you guys want to compete in, and fire it up. That’s how easy it gets. Additionally, there are new game modes added in 2K23. These include War Games and a few others. Make sure you try that out too.
There’s a limit on how many controllers or players can play at a time, and that happens to be 4. It isn’t like the PS2 era when you could just buy an extension and play with more than 2, going all the way to 5-6-7 people at a time. That’s an ouchie, but it won’t be any less exciting, that’s for sure!

Just like the last edition of the game, WWE 2K23 doesn’t support cross-play just yet. You’ll have to make sure that you and your buddies are on the same platform if you guys are looking to compete online.
One positive fact though, is that if you guys are playing online, you can have up to 8 people join a match, which ought to bring back the good old days!
Anyways, all you need to do to get in a game is to head to the online tab, then find and click on the create a custom match option. Once you’ve got that out of the way, all that remains is for you to send out invites to your friends. Once they join in, just select wrestlers and hop in!
