First things first, To find and start up the multiplayer mode, you got to go to the pause menu, find the poke portal option, click on it and head into the Union Circle.
There’s another way to do this, too. You’ll have to interact with the yellow screen at any Pokémon Center. Once you’ve done the same and entered the union circle, you’ll have a couple of options, you can either form a group, or join one.
If you were to host, your friends could join you, and if your Friend has already created one, you’ll be able to join the same with a link code.
Ask your friends to send you the code, or send it to them. Once you’ve entered the code, and you’ve joined the game, you could do a bunch of stuff together.
You could free roam, engage in battles, Trade with your friends, Engage in Tera Raids, catch Pokemon, or just explore new stuff. Thanks to the open world, the list of stuff you guys can do is essentially endless.
NOTE: If the host loses their connection, the whole thing will get disbanded, and you guys will disconnect. Make sure the host has the most reliable internet connection for an uninterrupted experience of the Pokemon open world.
