How to play Coop or Multiplayer in Sons of the Forest
Sons of the Forest has both Multiplayer and Single Player options. At the start of the game, you will have chances of either starting the game as a single-player campaign or quickly joining other players. You will also have the option to host a multiplayer game.
If you are willing to play the game with your friends, then all you need to do is click on the Multiplayer option, and you will get to decide who will host the game amongst your friends. While joining a game, you will have two different Filter Options, Friends only and Mode. If you turn on the Friends only, you can only see friends online in the game currently.
Also make sure that the host you selected for the game is on your Steam Friend list to make this process easier. You can also share your server name and let others join in if you wish to play with others. However, select one from the featured servers list if you want to dive in a random server.
If you are selected to host the game, you can select the difficulty rating of the server and place a limit of how many players you would want to have on your server. Remember, you can have up to 8 players on a single hosted server and limit that between two and eight. If you turn on the friends only in the multiplayer host menu, then only your friends can join your server. Its good to see so many multiplayer options for an Indie game like this.
