How to One Phase Nezarec in Root of Nightmares Raid in Destiny 2

The best DPS options for the fight could be anything, as Nezarec doesn’t have much HP, but this is how me and my team one-phased Nezarec:

  • At least 5 Warlocks using the Solar subclass and Starfire Protocol. So that you can spam Fusion grenades from your Well of Radiance.
  • A Void hunter using Shadowshot for debuff (Just in case you run out of Div ammo)
  • One player using Divinity
  • Everybody other than the Divinity player using Thunderlords.

How to beat Nezarec in Destiny 2

You won’t be doing anything different from what you did at the beginning of the raid as you encounter Nezarec, that is, to connect light and dark orbs until the DPS starts. Here’s a quick walkthrough of the fight:

Once you finish rallying, just split the teams into three, containing two each, meaning two to the right, two to the left, and two in the middle. For the teams on the sides (left and right), the job is to connect nodes. One person can do the same as the other combat and clears out enemies. For the one who’ll be in combat, you’ll have to clear out some shadow legion, a colossus, and then there’s Nezarec. They’ll be split all across the area.

The two people in the middle would be responsible for destroying Nezarec’s weak spots, one being on the shoulder and one on the chest, two people, two targets. It’s quite essential to have a sniper or an Arbalest or something of the sorts, here to hit those weak spots as they appear, or it’ll just make stuff harder for the other teams.

As you progress through this and both of the teams manage to connect the nodes, the DPS will start. All the teams at this point of the fight need to gather on any plate that’s nearest to Nezarec, then place down a Well of Radiance and just keep damaging him until he’s immune. Nezarec will jump, slam his hammer everywhere, and teleport. We recommend having someone with a Divinity, as without the same, it’ll be pretty tough to land your shots. Once Nezarec is then immune, just search the area for ammo real quick and until it’s time for DPS again. Once you’ve done this enough times and Nezarec reaches the final stand, he’ll just be still and a pretty easy target for the teams to take out.

If you’re struggling with the wipe mechanic, just know that there’s a way to avoid it. The same comes down to the two people in the middle. They’ll just have to pay attention to the color that Nezarec emits when his weak spots are shot. For instance, if it’s dark, the person doing the dark nodes will have to carry the buff to an already completed light node to receive a refugee buff. The same will last about 15 seconds.

That’s everything there is to know about how you could easily defeat Nezarec (One-Phase) in Destiny 2.
