How to Mute other Players in Overwatch 2
Situation One: There’s someone just spamming their mic, as in either they have a bad mic, or they’re just speaking too much that you’d rather not listen to, here’s how to MUTE them in-game.
- Open up your Social menu.
- Here, you’ll see all the players that you’re in-game with, your enemies as well as your teammates.
- To drop the old silence bomb on them all you’ve got to do is click once on the mic icon that is next to their names.
- You can also just right-click on the player name and select ‘Mute Player’
- Furthermore, if you’re willing to block off their chat texts as well, there’s another chat option you’ll see next to the mic option you just clicked, click on that once, and voilà! Officially no more communication with the toxic fella.
How to Block a player in Overwatch 2
Situation Two: If just muting them isn’t enough, and you wish to block out the player completely.
In this situation, we recommend muting them first as you probably might have done, but the thing is, even if you’ve blocked a player out completely (more on this below) you might be matched with them in the future too.
They definitely won’t be able to contact you but still, they could show up in your game. Another thing to do is just report them to blizzard, as blizzard keeps a track of the conversations that take place in the game, they might get voice-chat banned or banned completely from the game if the devs deem fit.
Anyway, if you’re looking to block them out completely, all you’ve got to do is take your cursor up to their name tag and click on it, here you’ll see a block option, click on it and the person is blocked completely.
