How to Increase IVs in Pokemon Scarlet Violet

In any Pokémon game, there’ll be battles, as in, you’ll have to combat some other Pokemon or gym trainers at some point of the storyline. The pokemon in the game are given each, a unique IV (Individual Value). The number is usually different, even if the pokemon belong to the same species. Higher the IV of a pokemon, the higher the stat potential of the pokemon. We’ll be guiding you with how you can increase your Pokemon IV in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Here it is:

When you catch a pokemon, its IV stats are randomly and automatically generated. You can’t really do anything to change them, just while you catch them.

However, there’s a way that you could increase those stats at a later time in the game. These numbers vary from 0 to 31, and the higher the number is, the better rated the pokemon is deemed to be.

Even if two pokemon are at level 100, their stats will be different, their IV stats are what causes this to happen, so we recommend that you do increase your pokemon’s IV points. Here’s how you can do the same:

As we mentioned earlier, you won’t be able to change your Pokemon IV stats at the very beginning. This is unlocked once you’ve unlocked the Hyper-training feature in the game. For this to work, your Pokemon needs to be at least level 50.

To increase IVs one needs to unlock Hyper Training in Pokemon Scarlet Violet

Hyper Training Explained

The procedure starts with you heading toward Montenevera, in search of an NPC situated next to Abomasnow.

The NPC is precisely behind the Poke Center situated in Montenevera. You’ve got to interact with him to begin the hyper training at the cost of a bottle cap or a gold bottle cap.

These items are hard to get, so you’ll have to spend some time earning one of those. Another way you can get one of those is by purchasing them from Delibird present shops for around 20,000 poke dollars.

If you’re falling short on Poke Dollars, we’ve covered an article earlier on how you can make Poke Dollars quicker. We suggest you check it out for further insights on the same.

Once you’ve paid the NPC, all you got to do is select the pokemon you want to train, then select the stats you want to increase. This training will increase the Pokemon’s IV. You can increase:

  • HP
  • Attack
  • Defense
  • Sp. Atk
  • Sp. Def
  • Speed

That’s everything you need to know about how you can increase your Pokemon IV in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet.
