Surf TM Location – The Surf TM is the best Water Damage ability that you can master and can hit multiple enemies simultaneously.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is an all-new game released on November 18th, 2022. The game was developed by Gamefreak and published by Nintendo. This is a Nintendo Switch-only game. This is the first instalment in their ninth generation of Pokemon Games, but it uses the same mechanics as the previous Pokemon games but with new storylines and Pokemons.
As mentioned earlier, the Surf TM is an ability or move in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with which you can deal Water damage. It has no such conditions as when the status damage will be applied to your opponents. This might make the Surf TM a weaker ability, but it can hit two different enemies at once during the Doubles match, which is a more significant advantage, unlike the Hurricane TM.
So this article will guide you on how to get Surf TM in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Surf TM Location in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
You can get the Surf TM in the South of Levincia, near Area Two or the South Province. As soon as you get to this area, you will easily be able to spot the Surf TM. All you need to do is find the vending machines. And besides those vending machines, there will be a barrel nearby. You will find a Pokeball beside that barrel with a shiny aura emerging. Whenever you notice something like this, remember that this is a TM. The screenshot above gives the pictorial reference of where to spot the Surf TM.
This is the exact location where you can find the Surf TM in Pokemon Scarlet Violet.
The Surf TM or TM 123 is also located off the south shore of South Province (Area Five).
On the map, you will have to look southeast from the school to a small brown island. Here is a screenshot showing the Island:
When equipped with a pokemon, the Surf TM can attack everything around it by creating a giant wave to swamp the surroundings. Remember that this Surf TM also features an AOE attack, which means this Surf TM can hit two pokemon simultaneously during the Doubles matches.
The Surf TM can help you a lot, and you can make the most out of it if you use a Water Type Pokemon like the Quaxly, Marill, Vaproeon, Golduck, Dondozo and alot more.
The Surf TM is a Water Type attack and is effective against elemental pokemon like the Ground, Fire and Rock Type Pokemon. Although if you use the Surf TM, attacks won’t do much damage if you use it against the Water/grass or dragon type of Pokemons.
Also, make sure you have upgraded your Pokémon so that they can deal the maximum damage by using these unique items.
Once you collect the Surf TM from Levincia, get back to the Pokemon Center and head towards the TM machine. You need the TM Machines to make multiple copies of these Surf TMs so that you can enough of them before attempting to battle against a Pokemon.
These are the materials that you will need to replicate the Surf TM.
- 5x Finneon Scales
- 3x Wiglett Sand
- 3x Finizen Mucus
- 10000 LP
You can quickly gather items at the TM machine by exploring the nearby beaches. You can also collect these when surfing the ocean. These items are abundant, so you won’t have an issue containing them. Managing them might take a while because you need to fight some low-level Pokemons to get everything. Apart from that, there is nothing more to add to it.
You can get the Ability to Surf without the Surf TM as well
First, you need to advance through the storyline and follow the path of the Titan and Herba Mystica. Once you’ve done the same, you’ve got to defeat a Pokemon called Bombirdier, The Open Sky Titan.
Bombirdier is a Flying and Dark type Pokemon Boss. Its weaknesses are Rock-type and Electric-type pokemon. Make sure you carry those with you when you engage in a battle with Bombirdier.
To locate Bombirdier, just head to the upper southwest corner of the Island Paldea.
Once you’ve successfully defeated Bombirdier, you’ll get two pokemon, Miraidon and Koraidon (depending on your game’s version). Both of these pokemon can Swim and Surf in the water. Now, in order to Swim/surf, just find a nearby water body and get started.
The Surf TM is a great ability; you should also have some for your Pokemons.
