The best way to acquire Skill Cards is to just keep playing and progressing through the game, that is, by leveling up. Another way to acquire these Skill Cards would be to complete certain side quests and, finally, to find them as you roam the world. Further, these cards can be classified into five types, these include:
Survivor
These cards act as passive abilities to your main “ability” cards, these usually end up providing effects like Speed Boost, Increased Attack Speed, Faster Health regen, etc. One survivor card can be added for each skill.
Innate
This is a unique ability that your Slayer will already possess. Amy for example has the ability to regain stamina as she hits zombies by throwing weapons.
Abilities
Ability cards include basic combat skills, these could include one or more of the actions that follow:
- Jump Skill – Attack effect of the basic jump kick mechanism.
- Defense Skill – The ability to dodge and block attacks from enemies.
- Special Skill – Secondary attack that might include special skills such as dash and strike, ground pound, etc.
- Fury skill Attack slot – basic attack you’ll be able to use in fury mode.
- Fury skill slot – A secondary special “fury” ability, which can include abilities like Street Brawler, Surgical focus, etc.
Numen
Certain powerful late-game cards.
Slayer
Secondary passives that focus on providing advantages that depend on other forms of attack, this could be in the form of a damage boost that you’ll be rewarded after performing a certain ability.
You won’t be able to collect cards for the “innate” type, as this ability is specific to your slayer. Otherwise, a number of cards can be found for the other four types of cards.
These cards will further be unlocked as you progress through the game, and as the difficulty level increases, so will the abilities or benefits that are provided to you via these cards. All in all, these cards make combat a lot easier for you!
