How to get Salamence, Shelgon and Bagon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet was released on the 18th of November, 2022, and is available only on Nintendo Switch.

It has an open world where you can catch Pokemons and even enjoy a picnic with your army.

One of the favorites is the dragon-Pokemon Salamence, which, since the third generation, has stood the test of time.

Being extremely strong, it even rivals the legendary pokemon powers that have come before and later. We don’t think that anyone can ever go wrong with choosing Salamence.

However, Salamence, Shelgon, and Bagon are all Pokemon Violet exclusives.

So, the following guide is here to assist you on how you can get Salamence or its pre-evolutions, Shelgon and Bagon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Salamence, Shelgon, and Bagon – How to get them?

As previously mentioned, these pokemon are a Pokemon Violet exclusive, but don’t worry. You always have the option to trade with someone who has Violet and get a Pokemon of similar lineage in return.

You also have the option to play a cooperative world, being a Scarlet player in a Violet player’s world. The ones you encounter there will enable you to face the Violet pokemon exclusives.

Salamence Location

I still not don’t have any idea about the location of Salamence in Violet. It can only be caught in Tera Raids. But I do know where you can find Bagon and Shelgon.

Bagon Location

So once you’re in their world, or if you are a Violet player, the following are the locations for Bagon:

  • Glaseado Mountain,
  • Alfornada Cavern,
  • Area 3 of East Province,
  • Areas 1 and 3 of South Province, and
  • Area 2 of West Province.

With that being said, this is where I got my Bagon in Violet:

Shelgon Location

Now let’s take a look at the Shelgon Location:

Alternate Way

One more way to catch Bagon and its evolutions, is there. However, it depends on your progress into the game, that is, it is applicable to the 9th Generation games (either version).

Bagon might come as a boss at a Tera Raid Battle at the lower-level star tiers. From 4 stars and higher, even Shelgon might start appearing, and finally, in 5 stars and higher, Salamence starts appearing.

Furthermore, if you have the subscription of Nintendo Switch Online, you are enabled to join a Public Raid group. This might offer you one of these in the form of a Tera Raid battle.

Just make sure that your Pokemon are tough enough to take their form as Tera and withstand what might be a tough battle against Salamence.

That is all that we had on How to get Salamence, Shelgon, and Bagon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
