Double XP tokens are available in two forms, one specifically for the weapons, and the other for the in-game level experience.
As the name suggests, by using one of these you’ll double the XP you earn in a match or two, depending on what kind of match you’re playing. That’ll help you level up quicker, whether it’s the weapons or the levels in-game.
How to get Double XP tokens in Modern Warfare 2
The best way to get these tokens, or the easiest way we’d say, is to just keep playing, and complete all the campaign missions. This will roughly reward you with 3 hours worth of these Double XP tokens.
You’ll see an option in your Modern Warfare 2 main menu to activate one of these tokens, given that you have them. Upon double-clicking, the token will be active for the duration that is mentioned (approximately 30 minutes). You can also activate it in any multiplayer lobby you’ve entered here, it can be found next to the ‘Loadouts’ option.
Other ways to get these tokens
There’s an unorthodox way to get one of these tokens, which is to keep checking with some fast-food joints or companies.
Papa John’s, Burger King, Little Caesar’s, and Mountain Dew are some of the brands that have a bunch of promotional events running.
So if you’re around one of these joints, you might be able to get your hands on some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) in-game limited editions, and also some of these tokens.
And finally, if you’re okay with getting the vault edition of the game, you will be rewarded some extra tokens along with a few other goodies.
The in-game stores in Call of Duty sequels like Cold War, Vanguard, Warzone, or MW 2 (2022) offer ten hours’ worth of Double XP and Double Weapon XP Tokens to customers who purchase the same.
Finally, another question some Call of Duty players had been whether the tokens they’ve earned in other sequels, for example, Warzone, could be transferred over to the new MW2?
The answer to this is pretty obvious yet disappointing, no, the tokens they’ve earned in the other sequels are specific to the game itself and wouldn’t transfer to other ones.
