Farming the weapon could prove to be an absolute grind, but we’d say get onto the grind because it’s worth it. The very first thing you’ll have to do is to unlock Empire Hunts. This takes place once you’ve managed to complete the Beyond Light campaign. Here onwards, you’ll also be able to complete missions for the Variks and Exo Stranger. You’ll be required to complete these missions before you move on to Varik’s Sabotage Missions.

Here onwards, complete the Europan Explorer I and II missions, in which you’ll be required to eliminate a significant number of enemies. This isn’t a problem as towards the end, endless bosses keep spawning in. It’s one hell of a battle, but if you pull through it by getting as many eliminations as you need, you’ll unlock an activity named Weekly Empire Hunt. The only way you could get the Cloudstrike is by it dropping through these missions.

Empire Hunt Difficulties

There are a few difficulties, but the chances of Cloudstrike dropping are consistent with them all. The difficulties are:

  • Adept – 1180 power (RARE)
  • Hero – 1220 Power (RARE)
  • Legend – 1250 Power (RARE)
  • Master – 1280 Power (RARE).

Another thing to be on the lookout for here is that you start every single one of these weekly hunts at the correct power level. If you fail to do so, you’ll end up being stuck at the start, and you probably won’t be able to complete them. Also, when you are running these Empire Hunts, pick a character with High Mobility and pick a sword with Eager’s Edge. Try to skip the areas as fast as possible because you don’t really need to eliminate enemies here. The only enemy that matters is the final boss.

Finally, the Cloudstrike has gained popularity so quickly due to the fact that it deals arc damage that’ll impact the ground, wherever you manage to kill an enemy or when you land three precision shots in a row. This means that it’ll deal area-of-effect damage, allowing you to be able to quickly clear out enemies in front of you. Be quick though!

That’s all we had on how you could get the Cloudstrike in Destiny 2’s Lightfall.
