Racing in NFS Unbound across the City of Lakeshore, one of the things that you should know is drifting.
Being an important facet of the game, if you are wanting to build up your Burst Nitrous meter quickly, drifting is for sure your way. Obviously, it’s not the one thing that’ll make your drive look stylish and fast, although it does help.
In the game, you get the option to choose among a trio of styles when you begin the drift. When sliding around a corner, they are: Brake and Throttle, Gas only or Brake only.
All of these have positive sides and uses. For any option that you pick, you should know when and how to speed through NFS Unbound is a must.
Ways to drift in NFS Unbound
It is advised for beginners to learn all about drifting if they’ve not drifted before. This also applies to braking drift beginners.
What you do is you use the handbrake or the e-brake while you take the turn for a drift. But remember that holding it for too long is not good. It will slow down your car and lessen your momentum when you want the speed to continue going.
Doing this perfectly will take some practice, but it is only a matter of time before you get the hang of it. Also, keep in mind monitoring the angle of the car while you drift in.
If you don’t, you can easily go spinning off the road with quite an aggressive turn that will slow your progress in the race and put you behind the players.
Another option is the Throttle to drift. You need to simply tap on the throttle to drift the option around a corner.
The advantage of this is that you get great control added to less reduced speed. It is a shallow drift that will help you keep the lead and catch up.
A different option is the Gas drift if the above options do not really work for you. For this, when you come to a turn, very quickly let off the gas, turn the corner and then hit on the gas pedal again.
As previously mentioned, drifting helps build your Burst Nitrous Meter for the races. When timed correctly, you can excel in the competition and gain the upper hand. If you’re using it during a drift, you should activate it as you slide into the drift. However, not all prefer to brake drift with their cars.
On a positive note, car customizations enable you to adjust the drift entry options according to your convenience. The options are handbrake or e-brake, Brake or Gas Tap, which is the default, or the Brake Tap. You even have the option to turn these off if you want them to be that way.
This is great because it allows players to not accidentally select an option they don’t want during a race. With all the options disabled, you can still drift with the handbrake.
