How to Change Crosshair in Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 is finally available to the public, and can now be accessed through all the major platforms like PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox.

Apart from the long queues, server issues, and disconnections, the game is doing quite well, to be honest. In fact, the launch of Overwatch 1 was nowhere as crowded as the launch of Overwatch 2.

The format has been changed from 6v6 to 5v5, and this change alone has made the game much more enjoyable than the first one. No more dealing with two Tanks at the same time. Does anyone of you remember the horror?

Anyway, Overwatch is an awesome PvP title, and the customizations it provides could really hook in a PvP lover. One of them is obviously the ability to change and customize your Crosshair.

Now, looking at Overwatch, where the aim is not the most important thing, one might think that Crosshairs don’t play a huge role. That is wrong. You see, your Crosshair size and the way it appears, depends on the resolution of your monitor. If you are playing at 1440p, your Crosshair might appear smaller than how it is at 1080p. In that case, you need to increase the size of your Crosshair.

This guide will show you how to Change or Customize your Crosshair in Overwatch 2.

How to Change Crosshair in Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 does allow you to change or completely customize your Crosshair Reticle. The problem is, the options are kind of hidden inside the settings menu, and one might find them to locate.

So to Change or Customize your Crosshair:

  1. You need to go to Settings or the Options menu.
  2. Now click on the Controls tab.
  3. On the Controls menu you will notice the ‘Reticle’ section, just below the Controller section.

  4. That is where you can change or customize your Crosshair Reticle.

You get plenty of customization options for your Crosshair or Reticle. I would first advise you to go to the Practice Range, and check the changes to your Reticle live, as you make them.

Now, you can select between 5 different types of Crosshair:

  • Default – The Default Crosshair for every character. The Default Crosshair is not the same on every character, though.
  • Circle – This one is a circle with a dot in the middle.
  • Crosshairs – The type of crosshair or reticle that is the most common in FPS games.
  • Circles and Crosshairs – It is a circle crosshair with lines of the normal crosshair around it.
  • Dot – It is just a dot. So no lines or circles around it.

I personally use ‘Crosshair’ as it is the closest thing to the one that I use in CS GO and Valorant.

Once you select anything other than ‘Default’, the default crosshairs of all your characters will get overridden. So, if you like the default crosshair of a specific character, too bad.

Once you choose your Reticle then you can select ‘Advanced’ to change the Color, Size, Thickness, etc. of the crosshair. You get 10 options here:

  • Show Accuracy – This shows accuracy or inaccuracy while you are moving or standing still. Basically, similar to the Dynamic Crosshair in CS GO.
  • Crosshair Color
  • Thickness
  • Crosshair Length – Changes the size of the lines or the circle of your crosshair.
  • Center Gap – The gap between the dot and the circle/lines.
  • Opacity – Crosshair Opacity. Set this to 100%
  • Outline Opacity – Set this to 100%, as well. You want your reticle to be as visible as possible.
  • Dot size
  • Dot Opacity
  • Scale with Resolution – Always keep this on. Otherwise, the crosshair starts looking extremely small when switching to higher resolutions.

You can customize every single aspect of your crosshair using the settings above. Once, you select anything other than the ‘Default’, the model of the crosshair will appear inside a box on the left side of settings. So, you can see all the changes that are taking place.

How to change the Crosshair of a Specific Hero in Overwatch 2

If you want to change or customize the crosshair or reticle of just a single hero, and you don’t want the same changes for the other heroes, all you need to do is click on ‘Change Hero’, located on the top-right of the Controls menu. Select the Hero whose reticle you want to change or customize.

Now, all the changes you make to the crosshair or reticle will be exclusive to the hero you have selected.

After, using the crosshair, if you don’t like it, and you want to go back to default. Just go back to the Controls menu, and select ‘Delete Override’.

Therefore, that is everything you need to know about changing and customizing your Crosshair/Reticle in Overwatch 2.
