Where to find the Spider boss?

The Phase Spider Matriarch is actually a secret boss. You can find the Spider outside of the Blighted Village waypoint at the bottom of the well. You can easily identify it by it’s huge blue colored body.

Now you will encounter a fight before you are go into the caves where the Spider Boss is located. So you need to take care of that first.

How to beat the Phase Spider Matriarch

Here are the steps you need to follow in order to make your battle with the Spider, an easier one. The first thing you should do is get hold of an invisibility potion.

Now drink that potion and stalk around to destroy the eggs scattered around the area. If you don’t then the Spider Matriarch will keep on spawning baby spiders, that would make the fight extremely difficult.

If you don’t prevent these spider babies from coming alive then the fight becomes much more challenging. But if you somehow fail to destroy all the eggs before the main encounter, don’t worry, try to push the small spiders off the ledge with an attack.

At all cost you must avoid the AOE poison attacks from the the spiders because poison damage is probably the most annoying damage type that you can get hit with.

One more thing that makes this encounter very difficult is the fact that the Phase Spider Matriarch can teleport right at your face, quickly closing the gap and de-buffing your ranged adventurers due to their close proximity. So you need to take care of that.

The best way to defeat the Spider Matriarch is to wait for it to situate itself on top of the web bridges. As soon as it does so, destroy the bridges with any 4+ damage attack. That will deal a huge amount of fall damage to the boss. Remember though, one bridge in particular can be destroyed and the spider will fall down a chasm. If this happens then you will win the fight but the loot will be gone forever.

Once defeated the boss drops the Poisoner’s Robe which grants Poison Trails, when the wearer casts a spell that deals poison damage it deals an additional 1d4 poison.
