Hood Outlaws & Legends PC – Login Failed – Error Code BC-100 – How to fix the connection issues

One of the big releases of May 2021 is definitely Hood Outlaws & Legends. The game is finally out across all platforms, and seems to be getting some decent numbers so far. The game belongs to the PvPvE genre, and PvP players are favoring the game more than PvE players.

Now, we all know that Hood is an always-online title. And one of the biggest problems with always-online games is the connection issues that follows. Disconnections, desync, high server latency, etc. These all come with the package. Unfortunately, Hood is no different.

Players are getting connections issues constantly. Many people so far have been failing to make lobbies or invite their friends to play. Some PC users are getting login failures followed by a message that says:

Login Failed

Failed to log in: Failed to connect to the Hood servers

Error Code: [BC-100]

Hood Outlaws & Legends - login failed - Error code bc-100

Some common error codes people are getting are Error Code: [SD-202], Error Code: [PL-701] and Error Code: [EN-800].

The official Steam Discussions page of Hood is filled with posts of people showing their frustration. The developers have not commented about this yet, so we are not sure whether they are aware about these issues or not. So it there a fix?

How to fix these errors

So here is what you need to do first in this situation. You need to first visit the official Twitter page of Hood Outlaws & Legends → Hood_OL

Check the recent tweets and see whether the developers have tweeted anything about server maintenance or the servers being at full load. A lot of times, when a game launches, a lot of users try to log in at the same time. This tends to push the servers at full load. As a result the servers go down. If you see a tweet related to that, don’t worry the servers will be back up soon. And there is nothing else you need to do.

But, if you do not see any such tweet then here is what you need to do. You need to try logging in a few times. When I started Hood for the first time, I was greeted with a login failure. I had to try six times before I was able to go in.

If trying multiple times doesn’t work for you then you need to try the methods recommended by the devs themselves.

  1. Allow Hood on your Windows Firewall:
  2. Open Windows Settings > Update & Security
  3. Select Windows Security from the left bar
  4. Click on Firewall & network protection
  5. Select “Allow an app through firewall”
  6. Click on “Change Settings”
  7. Scroll through the list until you find Hood
  8. Tick both Private and Public
  9. If Hood is not there on your list then you will have to add it manually by selecting “Allow another app”

At this point you have tried all the basic fixes for the connection issues. If none of the methods mentioned above are working for you, then I would suggest you check out this Network Troubleshooting guide posted by the devs of Hood themselves. You can also contact Focus technical support.
