Great Tusk Weakness and Counters in Scarlet and Violet

Great Tusk is the ancestor of Donphan. Basically, a past paradox pokemon that you are enabled in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to train. You can find its reference in the Scarlet book. You can catch and train the Great Tusk, and believe us when we say that it hits quite heavily.

Despite all the pros this pokemon offers, it has weaknesses or counters in the game. Let’s find out about them in the following guide.

Great Tusk Weakness in Pokemon Scarlet Violet

Great Tusk Weakness in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Great Tusk is Fighting/Ground type pokemon, has an amazing physical bulk, and is a great offensive pokemon. However, it does have some weaknesses or counters that you can exploit.

This all owes to the fact that it has negligible Special Defense and also the fact that it is vulnerable to 6 types. Here are all the weaknesses of Great Tusk

  • Fairy
  • Ice
  • Water
  • Flying
  • Grass
  • Psychic

So take full advantage if your opponent is using a Great Tusk, and we recommend that you use special sweepers to discourage the pokemon to switch as much as you can, which in turn would lay down the extra hazards that you need to punish to wear the Great Tusk down when this happens.

Great Tusk Counter in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

In my opinion, the best counter to the Great tusk that you can use is the Flutter Mane. This has a Ghost-Fairy type combo that is extremely leathal, is super fast, and even has access to Moonblast for the destructing Fairy type STAB.

That is all that we had on Great Tusk weaknesses and counters in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
