Fix Hogwarts Legacy No Sound or Audio Bug

Hogwarts Legacy no sound – Hogwarts is finally out, and every single Potterhead is thoroughly enjoying the game, at the moment. The game does have some technical errors. But nothing that cannot be fixed. Anyway, a lot of PC players are reporting that the audio of the game is getting bugged randomly, and they are not getting any sound in-game. If this issue is happening to you as well, this article might be right for you. Here is how to fix the No Sound or Audio issue in Hogwarts Legacy PC.

Fix Hogwarts Legacy No Sound or Audio Bug

Here are some quick tips to fix no audio in Hogwarts.

Make sure that you have selected the correct audio output

There is a chance that your primary sound output might have switched due to some reason. It normally happens when you plug in a controller or a second audio device. You can change your audio output by:

  1. Go to the lower right corner of your screen and right-click on the speaker in the System tray.
  2. Open up sound settings.
  3. Select the proper output device under the Sound Tab you wish to use.
  4. Now, start Hogwarts Legacy.
  5. Go to Sound Settings.
  6. Make sure Mono Audio is set to ‘Off.’

  7. Audio Configuration is set to “Headphones.”

Have you tried using a pair of Wired Headphones with a 3.5 mm jack?

I cannot tell you for certain that what I am suggesting will fix the issue, but since this has worked for me quite a few times, I would advise you to use a pair of wired headphones with 3.5 mm jack. I own a Razer Blackshark V2 Pro, and for many games, I have seen this issue happening, and we assume this Game is no different. But we fixed the problem once I started using my wired MSI Gaming Headphones with a 3.5 mm receiver. We also had reports that Wired headphones with USB interfaces have similar issues. The best bet is to use a headphone with a 3.5 mm jack.

Trying switching the format of the Playback device.

Remember that if the game audio is not rendered to the Native Windows settings, it can lead to sound issues. To change this, you have to:

  1. Right-click on the speaker icon on the system tray.
  2. Select Sounds and pick your default playback device.
  3. Right-click on it and choose the properties.
  4. Go to the Advanced tab option.
  5. Change the format to 16bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality), or 24-bit 96000 Hz as the output format.

Disable Spatial Sound or Windows Sonic

Always keep the Spatial Sound and Windows sonic disabled, as it is a bit buggy right now.

Enable All Enhancements

Disabling all the Enhancements can lead to audio issues and loss of sound. For a change, you can:

  1. Go to Sound
  2. Select Playback Tab
  3. Go to Playback devices and right click
  4. Select Properties and then click on Enhancements.

Updating Audio Drivers should be the last resort

If none of the solutions mentioned above work, there’s one last thing that you can try. Although this is a suggestion that a lot of other websites might advise, you should try this only if you face audio issues while playing all games and not just specifically Hogwarts Legacy. The advice is simple – Reinstall your audio drivers. But please note that this might not be the best idea, if you ask me.

You see, if your audio driver has been corrupted, then it won’t specifically affect a single game. It will impact your entire system. So as long as you are able to hear everything else, there is no need to re-install drivers.

Run other games and check your sound. Go for fresh driver installation only if you face the same issue in other games as well. Go to the official website of your Motherboard, and download the drivers from there. Don’t just download from a random website.
