Another day, another Warhammer 40,000 game. This time it is called Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, and it is finally available on Steam and EGL, for people to try. Just like XCOM games, Warhammer 40k Chaos Gate Daemonhunters is a turn-based strategy game with a top-down tactical view. Warhammer games have always had a niche audience. But the people who play these titles, are diehard fans. And Chaos Gate is exactly what they love.
Anyway, it looks like the game is crashing for some users, and for some, it won’t even start. It’s quite annoying when nowadays games don’t launch properly and crash randomly at startup. Chaos Gate Daemonhunters is also a victim of such an atrocity. So here are some basic fixes (recommended by the developers) you can try out if you are facing similar issues.

Verify the files of Chaos Gate Daemonhunters
- EPIC – Navigate to your Game library and click on the three dots. Once the menu opens click verify.
- STEAM – Navigate to your Game Library and right-click on the game and select Properties. A window will open, click on local files and then click on Verify Integrity of Game Files.
Check if your OS is fully updated
Go to Windows Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates, and click on “Check for updates”. To install pending important updates.
Get rid of Sonic Radar and Nahimic Sonic Studio
Both, Nahimic and Sonic are known to have caused issues in the past for other games. The same thing be happening with Warhammer 40000 Chaos Gate Daemonhunters, as well. This bloatware comes installed inside your computer and causes many compatibility issues. Check if it’s present on your system by going to Task Manager and disabling the process.
Make sure your Graphics Drivers are up-to-date
This is one important thing that you should always check whether your Graphics Card Drivers are updated or not. Head over to the Geforce experience if you have an Nvidia GPU and click on Check for updates. Install if you find any.
The same goes for AMD cards, just head over to the Adrenalin Software and check and install if any GPU Software updates are available.
Overlays still don’t always work in certain games
After all these years, it is surprising to see, how many games are still not compatible with overlays. So, in this case, it is best to disable them.
- STEAM – For Steam head over to the settings and untick “Enables the Steam overlay while in-game”.
- DISCORD – Head over to the User Settings and Toggle off the Overlay.
- NVIDIA GEFORCE EXPERIENCE – Go to Settings and head over to the General and then toggle the In-game overlay off.
- XBOX GAME BAR – When you are in-game, press Windows + G to bring up the Xbox Bar and got to settings. Uncheck “Record in the background while I’m playing a Game”.
Set the in-game Graphics Preset to Low
It is quite common occurrence, nowadays, where games fail to startup or crash randomly because of the video settings.
Turn them down a bit if your system is not ready enough to take that load. You can do this by going into the in-game Settings > Graphics, and setting the Graphics Preset to “Low”. Now play the game for 10 mins. If you don’t witness any crashes, you can now start manually tweaking the settings to get the best results.
Unplug any 3rd party Peripherals
Sometimes 3rd party incompatible peripherals cause conflicts which results in crashing. Plug out all the unnecessary peripherals except the mouse and the keyboard.
Lower your Windows Resolution Temporarily
Since the Windows 10 April 2018 Creators update, we have seen this happening with a lot of games. Lowering your Window resolution temporarily will trigger the Windows to update the chosen display settings.
