Far Cry 6 Low VRAM Bug – It looks like some people are experiencing a really annoying Ubisoft Connect bug in the PC version of Far Cry 6. Is there a fix? Let’s find out.

Ubisoft Connect showing ‘Low amount of available VRAM’ constantly while playing Far Cry 6

Far Cry 6 has finally launched all over the world. The game has already managed to get an insane amount of love from the community for its visuals and gameplay. And Far Cry fans are thoroughly enjoying the game so far.

But not everything is perfect with this Ubisoft’s AAA title. A lot of bugs and errors have already started popping up, and the forums are slowly getting filled with posts regarding these bugs.

I have already covered some bugs on my website. And I am taking a look at another one in this article. It looks like an Ubisoft Connect bug is irking a lot of Far Cry 6 players. I am not surprised because I myself have encountered this bug.

For some reason, a notification from Ubisoft Connect pops up as soon as you launch Far Cry 6, and sticks to the top-right of your screen. The worst part is, the notification doesn’t go away. Here is what the notification says:

Low amount of available VRAM. This may affect game performance and stability. You could try to lower the quality settings of the game.

The funny thing is, Ubisoft Connect was showing this notification on my RTX 3070 PC. Where I am getting 80-100 FPS at maxed out settings, with HD Textures on, as you can see from the image below:

How to fix

There are two things you can do to fix this extremely annoying bug:

  1. Press Esc while you are in-game
  2. The System menu should come up
  3. Select Ubisoft Connect
  4. A Sidebar should pop up from the left side
  5. Look under ‘Notifications’, and disable ‘Enable in-game notifications’

That message should go away. If by any chance, it doesn’t. Here is the second fix for that should 100% get the job done.

  1. Close Far Cry 6, if you are playing it
  2. Wait for 5 seconds and let the game synchronize
  3. Now go to your Ubisoft Connect settings(Icon with three lines on top-left)
  4. Click on General
  5. Disable ‘Enable in-game overlay for supported games’
  6. Launch the game again

Now, after disabling the overlay, when you start Far Cry 6 the next time. You should get a message saying that some features might not work if you disable the overlay. Ignore that. Launch the game, you should be good to go.
