There are a lot of Exotic weapons in Destiny 2. Some of them have their own Catalyst and some don’t. Now, some Catalysts do not change the attributes of the weapons that much but there are some that are extremely useful and they change how the weapon works entirely.
We have already covered all the details about the new Ace of Spades and Cerberus Catalysts and now it is time to look at a old one. We are talking about the Huckleberry Catalyst here. Here is how to get it.
Destiny 2 – How to get Huckleberry Catalyst
Huckleberry Catalyst – Description
With the Shadowkeep or Season of the Undying update, the Rampage weapon perk received a huge nerf. Previously, the Rampage perk, when stacked x3 times used to give +66% increased damage. But in Sandbox 2.0 the damage boost has been brought down to +33% at Rampage x3. If you ask me, this is probably one of the biggest nerfs that I have seen in Destiny 2 history.
Luckily, Huckleberry somehow managed to avoid this nerf. I am not sure whether Bungie did this on purpose to give more to weight to the Exotic SMG or they just straight up forgot. Whatever it is, Huckleberry is undoubtedly one of the best weapons in the game now.
So what does the Huckleberry Catalyst do you ask? The Huckleberry catalyst when unlocked will refund ammo on eliminations. The weapon will also generate ammo on multikills. So if there are enough enemies in your screen then you would be able to fire constantly without reloading.
Though the Catalyst is more PvE focused, Huckleberry works like a charm inside Crucible as well now. Here is an excellent video by one of my favorite Destiny YouTubers Aztecross Gaming. He has explained everything about the weapon inside Sandbox 2.0.
How to get the Huckleberry Catalyst?
Getting the Huckleberry Catalyst is pretty straightforward. All you have to do is complete heroic activities on Mars. But if you ask me, the Catalyst can drop from any activity in Mars. I got the Catalyst from a Strike in Mars. I am not sure whether that was suppose to happen but I don’t remember getting it specifically from any Heroic activity. Though, I would still recommend you to do what the game wants you to do. Whenever you see a Heroic adventure on Mars, complete it. The drop is not guaranteed and it completely based on RNG though.
I am not sure whether the Catalyst drops from the Heroic Public Events in Mars or not. If anyone of you has managed to get it from there and do let us know in the comment section below.
In order to unlock the Catalyst, you need to get 500 eliminations. Both PvP and PvE eliminations will contribute to the progress.
