Death Stranding PC – Game looks blurry – How to fix

Why Death Stranding looks blurry?

Death Stranding finally got released on the Windows platform and we have to say that the game has managed to garner some really good reviews. But that doesn’t stop the game from having performance issues like lag, crashes, stutters, etc.

A lot of Windows users might have already noticed by now that the textures of Death Stranding appear to be blurry at some instances. And the problem doesn’t go away even with all the video settings set to the highest possible quality. At some portions of the game people are noticing that the ground is completely blurry and washed out.

This is really disappointing as the system requirements of the game are fairly high. People who are playing this game on 4k resolution might not notice any difference. But people who are on 1080p monitors are really experiencing the blurriness. So is there a fix?

How to fix the blurriness?

Well, you are at luck here as there is a fix for this issue. Both AMD and Nvidia users should be able to do this. I am showing the steps for Nvidia Control Panel, but AMD users should also have something similar to this in their GPU Control Panel.

  1. Right-click on your desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
  2. Go to 3D Settings > Manage 3D settings
  3. Click on the Program Settings tab and from there select Death Stranding.
  4. If Death Stranding is not on the list, you can add it using the Add button.
  5. Once the settings appear for Death Stranding
  6. Set Anisotropic filtering to 16x.
  7. Hit Apply

Here is a side-by-side comparison:

As you can see, the ground on the right screenshot appears clearer than the one of the left. The picture on the left clearly makes the game look dated and old.
