A lot of players are getting the Don’t Lose Your Mind Bug in Cyberpunk 2077
What is this bug all about?
It has been almost two weeks since Cyberpunk 2077 got released and I have to say, this is probably one of roughest launches I have ever seen in my life. I really don’t want to go into the details again. Because I am pretty sure the whole world knows at this point, that what is going on.
The game already has a lot of bugs and there are more popping up every day. But I am specifically talking about the Don’t Lose Your Mind bug here. There is a part in the quest where you are asked to “Get in the driver’s seat“. But for a lot of players, the car they are supposed to get in is either blocked or has exploded with the whole place on fire. Here is Reddit user /stewardboi describing the bug:

At the end of the quest when you can choose to meld all of the minds into one they give you a car. For me, the car is destroyed and I can’t enter it. Anyone else run into this problem and have a solution? Have tried reloading earlier saves and the same thing happens.

So while I was doing the don’t lose your mind side quest, I found a bug that is basically game breaking as you can’t leave the building without the car you get. In my experience the car was blocked off by other cars meaning i couldn’t get into the driver’s seat.
This is stopping players from progressing further in the game as this is a main quest. CDPR said that they have already fixed this bug with the lastest v1.05 patch. But looks like, they were either not telling the truth or they forgot about this. I can only imagine how frustrating this is.
How to fix the Don’t Lose You Mind bug?
So basically, there are a lot of different fixes to this bug. The only problem is, for some, they work and for some, they don’t. Still I will try to list all the fixes here.
The first fix comes from Reddit user /stewardboi only :
So I just had to save right after choosing the option to meld all of them together and reload until the car wasn’t destroying itself. Hope this helps someone.
The second fix comes from Reddit user /OrphicNinja only :
I managed to blow the other cars away a few inches enough to be able to spam the “square” button and get in.
He has even uploaded a video of the fix on his Reddit Post. Here it is:
You will find a lot of comments from players who are witnessing something similar on the post above. And some of those comments have some fixes included in them as well. I have already encountered this bug personally and all I did was I kept loading my most recent save before the bug took place, until the car was not in the exploded form. Then I just went ahead and entered the car and completed the quest normally.
These are all the working fixes that are available at the moment. You can obviously wait for CDPR to release an official fix. But considering how bad the situation is for them right now, I wouldn’t count on that. Also, if any of the fixes end up working for you, please let everybody know in the comment section below.
