The launch of Crusaders Kings 3 has been a huge success so far. Players are thoroughly enjoying the game. CK3 has been constantly getting more than 50,000 active players so far. So you can imagine how big the game has become.

With that being said, the game has it’s fair share of bugs and glitches. Some are easy to fix while some are really game breaking. The bug is we are talking about here is really annoying one.

Some players have been constantly getting a message that says “Multiplayer service currently unavailable. Relogin to Paradox Plaza or try again again later.” whenever they are trying click on ‘Join Game’ under Multiplayer.

The bug is causing huge frustration in the community as more and more players are getting stuck. So is there a fix to this bug?

How to fix this bug

Fortunately, there are three working fixes for this bug. And these fixes have been confirmed to be 100% working by the community.

Use a VPN

This issue can be easily fixed with a VPN. Here is how to do it

  1. Just get a VPN. Any VPN would. Doesn’t matter whether it is a free trial or premium
  2. Install the VPN
  3. Enable the VPN and connect to any server
  4. And then just disconnect and close the VPN

Here is what one user on the CK3 Forums has to say regarding this.

Can confirm installing a free vpn, activating it once and then turning it off & disabling it at start up has completely fixed the problem for me! (Using gamepass version of the game)

Allow Crusader Kings 3 through Firewall

Just to make sure if the Windows Firewall is not blocking your access to CK3.

  1. In the Windows Search bar type “firewall”
  2. A setting would pop that say “Allow an app through Windows Firewall”
  3. Scroll down the list and look for Crusader Kings III
  4. Select it and click on Change Settings
  5. Make sure that both the Private and the Public boxes are checked

Set your Game details to Public on Steam (For Steam users only)

If you have CK3 on Steam then this what you need to do:

  1. Launch Steam
  2. Go your Profile
  3. Click on Edit Profile
  4. Select Privacy Settings from the left
  5. Set “Game Details” to “Public” under “My Profile”
