Captain Tsubasa Rise of New Champions (RONC) – Game is running at high speed – How to fix

Captain Tsubasa Rise of New Champions came out just a while ago and the game is doing fine so far. The only problem is there are a lot of small bugs in the game that are irking the players. Some of those bugs could be easily fixed while some need attention from the developers.

The bug we are addressing here is actually a strange one. People are calling it the “high speed” bug. So what is this bug all about?

Well, this bug is causing the game to run at a extremely high speed. Now by high speed I don’t mean more fps. It feels like that animations of the game have been sped up by 2X or 3X from the normal speed.

This is actually quite frustrating as this is completely stopping players from enjoying the game. Most of the time they are failing to figure out what is actually going on on their screens.

How to fix this bug

Fortunately quite a number of fixes have been mentioned on the steam discussions page of Captain Tsubasa. And a lot of players have actually approved these fixes. Here are some:

Turn V-sync On or Off

Just go to the graphics settings of the game. If you are facing this issue with V-sync on then turn it off. If you are facing this issue with V-sync off then turn it on. Simple. This is by far the most popular fix actually.

Play the game at Windowed mode

A lot of people have managed to fix this bug by just switching to Windowed mode from Fullscreen. This is the fix that I have tried personally and it did fix the issue for me. Fiddling with V-sync didn’t work in my case.

Set a FPS Cap

A lot of users are saying that capping the fps of the game to 60 fps fixed the issue for them. This is what one user has to say:

The issue likely lies with the frame limit. Set it to 60 instead of unlimited to see if that makes a difference.
If you have an AMD card, use the Radeon Software to activate Radeon Chill and set the max FPS to 60.

You can actually use any suitable utility you want to cap the fps.

Set monitor refresh rate to 60hz

A lot of users with high refresh rate monitors have managed to fix this issue by just changing the native resolution of their monitor from 144hz or 240hz to 60hz. Though this is something that I personally don’t recommend. As fiddling with monitor refresh rates is not a good idea. But if nothing else works for you, try this.
