Borderlands 3 – How to get MIRV or Recurring Hex

MIRV/Recurring Hex – Description

The Recurring Hex is a Grenade Mod of the Legendary or Orange Rarity in Borderlands 3. It is one of the best grenade mods you can get in the game right now. And it perfectly complements the ‘Invincible Moze Build’. There are four types of Hex grenade mods in Borderlands 3. They are the Hex, MIRV Hex, MIRV-Tacular Hex and Recurring Hex. The normal Hex is pretty useless as it does not spawn any MIRV grenades. So, you should focus on getting the other three. They do come with different elements.

Let us take a look at the description of Recurring Hex. The one I got is the Recurring Hex (Level 50) that deals Radiation damage and it also splits into 2 grenades in flight so I will be getting 6 MIRV grenades in total.

  • Damage : 1168
  • Radius : 106
  • Homing
  • Hex
  • Divider
  • MIRV
  • Red text : Keeper of the stars, I hope to never find…

Where to find these Hex grenade mods?

Update : The Hex now has a dedicated drop source. You can farm for the Hex Grenade Mod from a mini boss called Sky Bully. You can find Sky Bully on The Anvil at Eden-6. He should be near the location of the boss you might have previously fought, Warden. Here is the exact location:

Now, if you look up on the internet about the location of these Hex grenade mods, you will be get flooded with information about it. Different sources claiming different locations. Even I got confused and finally decided to farm for it myself. So I went to farm Graveward, my most trusted source for getting Legendary loot. And like every time, I ended up getting what I wanted. I was at TVHM with difficulty set to Mayhem 2. Here is a video of the Recurring Hex dropping for me from Graveward:

Yes you could also get the Hex grenade mods from different sources but I cannot recommend them as I have not tried them. But always remember that bosses in Borderlands 3 have a higher chance of dropping Legendary loot than any other source.
