The Lucky 7 is a pistol of the Legendary or Orange rarity in Borderlands 3. The weapon is a part of the new DLC called Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot. And is one of the best Legendaries that this DLC has to offer.
Until now the Maggie was considered to be the best pistol in the game. But now with Lucky 7 there is a possibility that the meta might change. The weapon is extremely powerful and will suit almost every character build.
So what is so special about the Lucky 7? Well, the weapon feels powerful like the Maggie but it has a special trait that the Maggie doesn’t. Upon reloading this weapon, you have a random chance of activating different bonus perks. There are five different perks or bonuses that this weapon can roll each each time.
- Auto critical shots, that allows the weapon to do critical damage no matter where the bullets hit on the enemies.
- Automatic, which turns the pistol into an automatic weapon.
- Amp shot, which allows your shots to do more damage and you notice a purple beam every time you shoot.
- Explosive rounds, just like the Torgue weapons.
- And finally the “7” perk, which allows the pistol to shoot seven projectiles in the shape of the number 7.
You can roll all five perks together or none(Trash Can), it is completely based on RNG.

Lucky 7 – Drop Location
Let me start by saying that this weapon is exclusive to the Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot DLC. So, you need to have the Season Pass in order for you to access the location where this weapon drops.
The Lucky 7 has a dedicated drop source but it is also in the world drop loot pool. Here is how you can get the Lucky 7:
Scraptrap Prime
In order to get the Lucky 7 you need to go and farm a new boss called Scraptrap Prime. You can find Scraptrap Prime or the Scraptrap Nest at The Compactor at The Handsome Jackpot. This weapon can drop at any difficulty. Here is the exact location:
World Drop
You can get the weapon as a world drop as well. It can drop from a boss, old or new, or any enemy, old or new. But it is recommended that you play the new DLC as much as you can. Because this weapon being an exclusive might have a better drop chance from the enemies at The Handsome Jackpot.
