Blood-Starved Beast – Weapon Description

Blood-Starved Beast is a SMG of the Legendary or Orange rarity in Borderlands 3. The weapon is a part of the fourth DLC called Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck. And is one of the better weapons that the dlc 4 has to offer.

The special ability of the Blood-Starved Beast is that your shots have random chance to cause explosions. Those explosions deal splash damage and will be the same as the element of your gun. If you have anything in your build that increases splash damage then that will help this SMG a lot. And the best part is, the explosions don’t deal self-damage.

You can reach some really high DPS with this weapon due to the extremely high fire rate. I have tried it in Mayhem 10 difficulty and it does pretty good. The weapon comes in three firing modes, Full-Auto, Burst and Semi-Auto. Always go for Full-Auto as the other modes don’t deal any sort of extra damage.

How to get the Blood-Starved Beast (Drop Location)

Blood-Starved Beast drops from Evil Lilith on Castle Crimson in Krieg’s Mind. You obviously need to start the Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck DLC in order to get access to the mentioned locations. Here is the exact location of Evil Lilith:

Just spawn at Castle Crimson – The Walls and walk over to the location shown above. It is a straight walk, so you shouldn’t have any problem finding the location.

Now fighting Evil Lilith could prove to be very frustrating if you do not have proper weapons. I would recommend using the Monarch in Bipod mode as it pretty much shreds everything.

Regarding the drop rate of the Blood-Starved Beast, the gun is a fairly uncommon drop. I did 25+ runs and I managed to get only three. I was farming at Mayhem 10 on Normal Mode.
