It looks like a quest called ‘Walls and Shadows‘ is getting bugged for a lot of players in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Here is how to fix it.
Walls and Shadows Quest is Bugged in AC Valhalla
What is this bug all about?
AC Valhalla is filled with quests, big and small. And they are all are pretty different from each other. Quests in games like AC Valhalla do the job of educating players about the mechanics and the lore of the game. Without them a RPG title is incomplete.
But it looks like the ‘Walls and Shadows – Travel to Lunden’ quest is stopping a lot of people from progressing in the game. After reaching the Gates of Lunden players are getting stuck after a loading screen and then Eivor won’t move at all after that. Pressing keys on the keyboard or the controller is proving to be of no help. There are already plenty of posts regarding this on the Ubisoft Forums. Here is what the user, who was the first person to post about this bug, has to say:
I’ve seemed to have encountered a glitch where when I go to the gates, the game will attempt to load something, and then completely fail, I’ve tried to go back from previous saves and attempt but this does not fix the problem.
I can
-move the camera
-access the game menu except the world mapIf you have any suggestions that will prevent me from restarting the 30+ hours on my game, I’d appreciate it.
And here is the second post on the Forum regarding this bug by another user:
When accepting the mission, I get to the gates of Lunden and it pauses. There’s a long loading screen and once it’s finished I cannot move or access the map. I’m unable to progress through the mission and I have to load an old auto save. This is on PC and I’ve attempted to validate files and reinstall, but nothing’s done the trick
How to fix this bug?
The good news is there are plenty of fixes for this bug, the bad news is they are not working for every body. The first fix comes from an user called /Adam:
Helped me in the following way: load the last save from Ravensthorpe and ride to lunden on horseback. By being close by using the raven, you can see the gathering in front of the entrance. Then just drive up and everything will work
Second fix is coming from another Forum user called /aameiel:
Same thing happened to me so I reloaded, and went over the way then walked out the city and that fixed it for me hope that helps.
And the third fix is from a user with the name /StephenHall:
Finally got past this glitch. I didn’t go directly to this point, I just took the back way into London reaching the high sync view point first, then opened some chest then went there. I didn’t think it would work, but it let me move on to the next area.
In fact, some users actually confirmed that the third fix works. Also, an Ubisoft Support Staff has taken the time to reply on the posts about this bugs. He says:
