Apex Legends download stuck – Stuck while downloading the S15 or Eclipse update in Apex Legends? Don’t worry, we got you.

Apex Legends Season 15 Download Stuck – Eclipse Update

The Eclipse or the Season 15 update has dropped in Apex Legends just a while ago. The update has brought a ton of content to the game. From brand-new skins to various bug fixes, this huge update has it all.

Apart from a usual new character or Legend (Catalyst), the update has brought has introduced a completely new map called Broken Moon. A ‘Gifting’ system has been introduced, which allows you to purchase bundles and cosmetic items in the Store tab for your in-game friends.

And, there is also a brand-new Season 15 Battle Pass. You can check out the full Season 15 patch notes here.

It is now a known fact that every time an update comes to Apex Legends, it fixes a few things, but also ends up breaking a few. The same thing is happening this time.

Looks like a lot of players are unable to complete the update process. It is basically a bug where the download gets stuck at 98% on Origin, or gets completely stuck on Steam.

This is actually happening to a lot of people and even some Twitch streamers had to face this issue. So is there a way to fix this?

How to fix the โ€œdownload stuckโ€ bug

Though the bug sounds pretty complex, the fix for it is very simple. A lot of users are restarting the download without knowing about the fix. Do not do that! Here is how to fix it:

  • Pause your Apex Legends Update on Steam, and wait for your download speed to hit 0. As soon as it does, resume the download.
  • If you are experiencing this issue on Origin or EA Play, then you can do the exact same thing there, as well. Pause the download, wait for the download speed and write speed to hit 0, and resume.
  • The second thing you can do is, restart Origin or Steam, or your entire PC (Funny how this works every time).

If that doesn’t work, here is another thing you can try:

  1. Type โ€œSecurityโ€ in the Windows Search bar.
  2. Open the Windows Security App, which should show up at the top.
  3. Click on โ€œVirus & threat protectionโ€, from the left.
  4. Under Virus & threat protection, click on โ€˜Manage settings’.
  5. Under Exclusions, click on Add or remove exclusions.
  6. Click on Add an exclusion.
  7. Select Folder.
  8. Add the steamapps folder.
  9. Pause the download on Steam.
  10. Start it again.
  11. If you are using Origin, add the folder where you install your Origin games, as well as the Origin folder from: C:\Program Files (x86)

And that is all you have to do. Just wait a few seconds and your download with start again at full download speed.

Alternate method [For Origin users only]

  1. Create a new file on your desktop
  2. Paste this inside the document:
    [connection]
    EnvironmentName=production[Feature]
    CdnOverride=akamai
  3. It should look like this:
    EA Core - Preview
  4. Click on File, located on top-left
  5. Click on Save as
  6. Change โ€œSave as type:โ€ to All Files
  7. Name the file EACore.ini and save the file
  8. You should see a new file called EACore on your desktop
  9. Launch Origin via the Origin desktop icon
  10. Your download will start at full speed
