Risk Of Rain 2 is now available on Steam for players to enjoy. If you are familiar with the Risk Of Rain series then you would know that the main feature of this series is nothing other than the variety of characters it allows for players to play. There is a character for every play style.
What makes the character, Mercenary, so good is his ability to wield a powerful Lazer Sword. Playing with Mercenary is extremely fun as there are a lot of players who prefer swords over guns.
Unlocking Mercenary is not as easy as unlocking characters like MUL-T or Huntress though. The grind might appear to be pretty hard for some players but it is very much doable. Here is how to unlock Mercenary in Risk Of Rain 2:

Step #1
- Keep playing and clearing enemy mobs until you can get the ‘Celestial Portal’ to open which seemingly spawns on loops. But it is not confirmed
Step #2
- Enter the Celestial Portal and look for the ‘Obelisk’. It is easy to find it due to it’s size being very large.
Step #3
- Time your jumps perfectly in order to reach to the ‘Obelisk’ and make sure you do not fall.
Step #4
- Once you are in front of the ‘Obelisk’, interact with it.
Step #4
- Mercenary is now unlocked for you. You can now select him in your next mission
