Unlocking the Engineer in Risk Of Rain 2 is pretty straightforward as it does not require you to do certain steps specifically unlike Mercenary, MUL-T and Huntress. If you can devote enough time to Risk Of Rain 2, then you can unlock the Engineer pretty easily.
In order to unlock the Engineer in Risk Of Rain 2, you need to beat 30 levels. But you can take multiple games to do it and there is no need to for you to do it in one go.
Grab a squad if you can, and you wouldn’t even notice when you have completed 30 levels. It is that easy when you have a team. Once you have managed to clear 30 levels you will unlock Engineer. You can now play with him from the next playthrough.
