Rage 2 Performance Guide – Fix Lag, FPS Drops, Crashing And Freezing

Though Rage 2 has managed to get some good reviews from all over the world, we cannot deny the fact that the game is not perfect. The system requirements of Rage 2 had already raised some eyebrows in the community. And it makes sense because the game requires you to have a GTX 1070 8GB or Radeon RX Vega 56 to run at 60 fps on 1080p resolution. Players have already  started to complain about lag, fps drops, low fps, crashes, stuttering, etc, from the very first day of launch. That is why we decided to come out with a basic performance guide for Rage 2. Here is how to fix lag, fps drops, crashing and freezing in Rage 2:

How to fix lag, fps drops, crashes and freezing in Rage 2

Method 1

Check minimum system requirements of Rage 2

Make sure that your PC atleast meets the minimum system requirements of Rage 2. Players often make the mistake of buying games without checking the system requirements and they end up facing problems like lag and low fps later. Here are the system requirements of Rage 2.

Rage 2 Minimum System Requirements:

    • OS: Win7, 8.1, or 10 (64-Bit versions)
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-3570 or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 780 3GB or AMD R9 280 3GB
    • Storage: 50 GB available space

Rage 2 Recommended System Requirements:

    • OS: Win7, 8.1, or 10 (64-Bit versions)
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-4770 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1070 8GB or AMD Vega 56 8GB
    • Storage: 50 GB available space

Though the minimum system requirements say that Rage 2 requires only 8 GB of RAM to run, it is incorrect. This game was struggling a lot at 8 GB Memory and crashed a couple of times as well. Then we decided to add another 8 GB memory stick and that fixed the issue. Also make sure that your Hard Drive has a speed of atleast 7200 RPM. We installed Rage 2 and tried playing it on our 5400 RPM Hard Drive but we soon had to switch back to our 7200 RPM Hard Drive as the game was stuttering a lot. So here are the system requirements of Rage 2 recommended by us.
