How to use Double Pump in Fortnite Battle Royale

  • Find two pump shotguns of any rarity.
  • Place them on the two weapon slots that you can access easily during a fight.
  • Fire the first shotgun, before switching to the second shotgun.
  • Once you have successfully switched to the second gun, you’ll need to listen out for the “pump” sound and then fire at that same moment.
  • If you manage to do this properly then you will be able to fire multiple shots and deal some insane DPS
  • Keep practicing to increase the switching speed and use the technique more efficiently

Using Double Pump Shotguns would grant you some advantage though it is not recommended as it requires you to aim very precisely and it is not very effective anymore after the V4.3 Update where Epic nerfed the damage and headshot multipliers of shotgun. Epic said, “For awhile we felt that Shotguns promoted healthy close quarter gameplay, however with the recent equip time changes, Shotguns are being used more often than we like,”.”It’s something we’ve been keeping an eye on, but broadly speaking we feel Shotguns are a little too strong in their current state.”

You can read the full patch notes over at Epic’s Fortnite blog, but here’s the basic gist:

Pump shotgun damage has been reduced from 90 (Uncommon)/95 (Rare) to 80/85, and the headshot multiplier has been reduced from 2.5 to 2.0.

What that means is no one with full shields and full health can get instantly killed with a well-aimed shot from a pump shotgun.
